On 19 September 2023 our partners Pontus Scherp, Fredrik Norburg and Helena Selander will represent PriceRunner as intervener in the hearing of Google and Alphabet v Commission (Google Shopping) Case C-48/22 P before the European Court of Justice.
This landmark case concerns Google’s appeal against the General Court’s judgment, which found the tech giant guilty of abusing its dominant position by unfairly promoting its own comparison shopping service while unfairly demoting results from competing comparison services. The implications of this case are profound and could reshape the landscape of online competition. Google’s abuse has caused harm not only to PriceRunner and other comparison shopping services but also to European consumers who overpay when shopping online because of Google’s abuse.
