Norburg & Scherp Represents PriceRunner in €2.1 Billion Litigation Against Google for Abuse of Dominance

Norburg & Scherp Advokatbyrå represents PriceRunner in litigation against Google before the Patent and Market Court in Stockholm, suing for damages amounting to approximately EUR 2.1 billion. The action is based on the European Commission’s decision 2017 where Google was found to have abused its dominant position, by using its search engine to promote its own comparison shopping service in the search results, while demoting competing comparison shopping services, including PriceRunner’s services. Google’s abuse has severely harmed PriceRunner’s business for many years and PriceRunner is now seeking compensation for its loss. More information on the case can be found here.
Since Google in PriceRunner’s view is continuing to abuse its dominance just as before, the amount is expected to increase significantly for each day the infringement continues.

Norburg & Scherp is assisted by a team of leading lawyers from lawfirms in the UK, including barristers at Brick Court Chambers (London and Brussels), Denmark, Germany and the US.
